Training: Like you, I’ve spent my career in the workplace negotiating challenging business deals, settling tricky disputes and working with difficult people (I was never difficult myself of course). Having now built my own private practice in conflict resolution, I am uniquely positioned to bring you the practical and simple tools you need to do this more effectively in your own workplace. I won’t give you a binder full of material to study. You won’t have any new concepts or words to learn. The training I provide will be pragmatic and tailored to your specific needs.
Coaching: If you are facing a particularly challenging interaction with another person or group, I can provide you the one-on-one assistance you need to change your strategy and improve your communication. A history of poor or tense interactions can create distrust and ultimately harm your business. I work side by side with you to rebuild the communication you need in a given situation to be more effective today, and in the future.
Facilitation: Whether it’s a workgroup in the same office or remote locations, or whether it’s a loose coalition of companies or organizations, I can help you work together more effectively to focus and achieve your objectives. Perhaps you are a new group trying to refine your objectives or a long-standing group facing change or stagnation. As one of only three facilitators in Washington State who have passed the rigorous certification of the International Association of Facilitators, I have the expertise to bring your group together (click here for my facilitation philosophy and approach).
Mediation: Mediation is often associated with formal disputes and legal proceedings, but this powerful conflict resolution tool is now commonly applied in the workplace to resolve internal disputes that interfere with business. I create an environment and process in which people can not only effectively resolve the issues at hand, but set the stage for them to work better together in the future. I have been certified by the Washington Mediation Association in commercial, business, construction, environmental, labor and organizational relations and public policy disputes (click here for my mediation philosophy and approach).
Motivational Speaking: Conflict seems to be a no-win proposition. Maybe you avoid it. Maybe you attack regardless of the damage. Maybe you are exceptionally reasonable but the other is just a jerk so you’re no further ahead. Conflict sucks right? Nope, I’ll change your mind about conflict! I’ll inspire, entertain, and influence your audience to view conflict as an opportunity and to engage in it productively. Bring me in to your staff meeting, conference or other group function for a motivating and energizing presentation!
